Hummingbird places more attention on each word in a question so that the whole question – whole sentence or conversation or meaning – is taken into account rather than specific words. The goal is that pages that match the meaning mean better, rather than pages that match only a few words.
Google Hummingbird is designed to apply opinion technology to billions of pages across the web, in addition to Knowledge Graph facts, which can provide better results.

Google Panda Update is a search filter introduced in February 2011, which meant that low quality sites could not work in Google’s highest search results. The panda is updated from time to time. What is Google Penguin?

What is Google Pirate?
Google’s pirate update is a filter introduced in August 2012 to prevent sites with many copyright infringement reports filed through Google’s DMCA system to rank well in Google’s ads. The filter is updated periodically. When that happens, sites that have previously been affected can escape if they’ve made the correct improvements. The filter can also capture new places that fled as captured before, plus it may release “false positives” that were captured.
What is Google EMD?
The EMD Update for “Exact Match Domain” is a Google filter launched in September 2012 to prevent low quality sites from being ranked well, just because they had words that matched search terms in domain names. When a new EMD update happens, sites that have improved content can get good rankings. New sites with bad content – or those previously missed by EMD – can catch up. In addition, “false positives” may be released. Our latest news about EMD Update is below.
What is Top Heavy?
Top Heavy was launched by Google in January 2012 as a means to prevent sites that were “heavy” with ads from ranking well in their listings. Top Heavy is updated periodically.
